One Week 'til Maskfest!

Hard to believe it's almost here! In one short week I'll be loading up the back of the truck and heading out to  Maskfest!!!

It seems appropriate to piggyback yesterday's Illusive Concepts 2000 catalog post with the 2000 Mario Chiodo Signature Series catalog. Most mask collectors know that Mario Chiodo is the creative mastermind behind Illusive Concepts, the company that set a new bar for creating large, over-sized, super creative characters.

Mr. Chiodo raised the bar once again with what has to be the most elaborate and massive latex masks ever offered to the public. The character and attention to detail in these masks is absolutely stunning...

2000 Dynamic Designs International Catalog

 Dynamic Designs is run by Darren Perks (the sculptor of the Don Post Studios Calendar mask re-issues). While the Dynamic Designs website still exists, I'm not sure if they are actually still in business. My only interaction with the company was several years ago when I purchased a blank of the Retro Monster. It was a rather drawn out and unorthodox buying experience to say the least, but the mask is very cool and can be seen on page two...
