1986 Imagineering Catalog

Greetings Creeps! Today's catalog post contains only two pages of monster masks, and not very collectible ones at that. But, for those who trick or treated back in the early to mid 80's, this catalog offers up a lot of fun memories...

The smell of Imagineering grease paint make-up instantly reminds me of the preparation and transformation into a monster for Halloween night. There are a number of items from this catalog that were staples in the Yellow Phantom's make-up kit. By the age 12, I had the Ghoul and Dracula kits, Glow Faces Make-Up, Create-A-Face, and my favorite of all Imagineering make-up kits, the FACE 3-D Make-up /Mask kit...

This is an image I found several years ago while crawling around on the interwebs. While there are almost certainly more pages to the catalog, I have no idea whether or not there are more pages featuring masks. But fortunately, this page contains a reference to one of the all time classic monster masks the Bayshore Zombie...

Kadın Kasabı Article

This article on Kadın Kasabı or "Woman Butcher" (1968) has some nice color photos of a handful of the Topstone masks used in the film. While I'm not certain, I think these are pics from the same black and white film was posted here and here back in 2013. The movie title translates differently, but the mask lineup certainly looks the same.

"Studio" Featuring Don Post

This ten minute video by Marc Browning focuses on the process of Don Post creating a "People Eater" mask. Throughout the video Don talks about the history of the studio and his own artistic interests. Judging by the masks that are shown, it's a safe bet that this video came out around 1987-88. This is a great watch with some wonderful behind the scene factory shots of Don Post Studios...
