These scans were originally posted back in early 2011 on this HMA thread. Since the images have disappeared, I thought it would be fitting to give them life once again. A big thanks goes out to the original poster for taking the time to scan and immortalize this catalog.
While the old Topstone catalogs with the original Keith Ward illustrations certainly had more charm, I think it's rather important that this catalog exists containing actual photos of these masks. I'm also a huge fan of the blend of new and old featured in this catalog. The presence of the licensed characters such as Dead Nate and Pickman's Model is also an extra bonus...
An interesting melange of mutated monsters, I must say, Phantom. A good idea to "re-post" since the originals disappeared.
ReplyDeleteMasks 1154 and 1162 were the first over the head masks I owned as a kid. I have been looking for them for over 20yrs now. I never knew anything about them or who made them until I saw this post. Thank you Phantom! I think this might narrow my search!
ReplyDeleteThank you. This I.D.s the brown werewolf mask I've had since around 1985. I love that mask. Here I am on the left with a pal home haunting - https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/576216_10150926926936841_1896343804_n.jpg
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot Bryan! Thanks for sharing the link. You two look great in those costumes. If you don't mind, I'd love to post that shot here soon
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it! When I was a kid, Mask 1154 was the first mask I ever owned and that mask was part of my early beginnings of Halloween collecting. I have spent 20+ years searching for that mask and this post has narrowed my search! Thanks Phantom!
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear MrNightmare! So glad you found out what your long lost first mask is. Hopefully you can find one now. Good luck on your quest!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Feel free to post my picture. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone provide info on the mask in the lower right of assortment 1250? It looks like an old man smoking a pipe. I have been on the hunt for a version of this mask without the pipe. Any info would be appreciated!
ReplyDeleteCan someone please tell me what number 1162 is? I recently picked it up at a thrift shop and I want to get more info.
ReplyDeleteOh wow this is a blast from the past! I think I had the wolf mask - #1053!! and numerous others. My mom worked here when I was younger so I essentially grew up running around that factory building when it was in Danbury CT! I loved it. Any idea if there are other links to catalogs from other years...such as the early 90's?
