This Friday, several European countries find themselves upon the eve of a big weekend celebration as St. Nicholas will be making the rounds. And along with Old Saint Nick, tradition would have it, that the Krampus will come too. And so, here we are, the weekend before Krampus night...
Make no doubt about it, The Krampus will come. And they will run through the streets...
Over the next few days, we'll take a look at some of the most frightening monster masks in all the world...
SWEET! I've only in the past few years discovered the Krampus legend and I absolutely LOVE it!!! I'm just baffled we haven't had a Krampus themed horror film yet!
ReplyDeleteYes! I love Krampus! I want so badly to go to one of these festivals one day! Can't wait to see the Krampus masks here!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see some Krampus love out there!
ReplyDeleteGil-man- You're right, why no Krampus horror film yet? The whole concept of a real life boogie man is terrifying.
Jenn- Most of those festivals look like a great time, while others appear to be downright brutal. I don't say that lightly, I've been in some pretty nasty mosh pits. In fact in '94, I was in a pit at a Danzing show where several folks got stabbed. And the few times I've seen Ministry have always been pretty intense. But some of those Krampus invasion videos scare the shit outta me compared to that!
If you search Youtube for "Krampus Lienz-Osttirol" you'll see what I mean!
Wow! You weren't kidding! Those get downright violent!!!
