Continuing along with the goal of eventually scanning each of the HHQ issues to post and preserve for mask and monster enthusiasts, here is issue #7 (Vol.2 Num.3)
One look at the issue 7 cover featuring Jeff Wehenkel's amazing Radu vampire mask, and you knew this was going to be a great installment of HHQ! The "Headitorial" was perhaps my favorite among all the issues with Jim Kessler reminiscing of the day he acquired his first mask. The story still brings a big smile to my face.
As always, Cool New Stuff was one of the columns I couldn't wait to dig into and featured Morris costume Aliens, South Park masks, David Lady's Karloff, Harry Inman Zombies, and the Dark Shape from Dark Side Studios.
The Bill Hayes article on Wonderfest '98 is a great trip down memory lane for me personally, as it was the first out-of-state show I attended, and set up to vend at. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill in person at Wonderfest as well as several other collectors and mask makers. If memory serves me correctly, I met Paul Daniels from Darkside Studios for the first time at Wonderfest in 1998.
In addition to the images here, the entire issue is available in a higher resolution scan for download in PDF format, just right click and save creeps!
These are fun to see and reminisce. You must have a whole room full of old catalogs and magazines! Thanks for sharing these Yellow Phantom.
