1984 Don Post Studios Catalog

As the middle of the decade approached, the folks at Don Post Studios decided to change up the look of their catalogs. The 1984 Don Post Studios catalog would be the first of it's kind to feature a single mask on prominently on it's cover. The mask that held the distinction was the yellow hooded horror "Plague"...

1984 line-up featured several new additions including the Star Wars "Return of the Jedi" Masks...

Don Post Return of the Jedi Masks, Wicket, Emperor, Yoda, Admiral Ackbar,
Gamorrean Guard, Nien Numb
In addition, two full new lines of masks would be added. First, the "Maskerage" line, which were simple face masks mostly of the comedic variety. Personally, I love the "Joker" mask. Super creepy...

"Party Pleasers" was the second new line. Again, not the typical scary monster masks that Don Post Studios had long been famous for creating. Each of these would feature the term "La Goon" as part of their name...

The Medusa mask would be rejuvenated in full color and no longer in the traditional solid gold paint scheme of the previous two catalogs...

Finally, two new hooded half masks would be added to the 960 series, Rottkin and Plague...
