There's a great thread that's been building over at the HMA on the topic of the old American Mask and Novelty company. I posted a few pics in the thread from an early 1990s catalog. Here's the complete four page color catalog from which they came...
The catalog features a few monster mask classics like the Night of the Living Dead masks, and of course the Critter Props! Man, what kid didn't what a Critter puppet or two?
The London After Midnight mask is certainly an American Mask and Novelty classic...
Several old Death Studios designs were picked up by AMN including the Rat Fink mask and Junkyard Kid. These have gone for quite a premium in the secondary market for the better part of a decade...
There are a few other noteworthy designs that have always caught me fancy including the oversized "Demon Master", the "Clawed" mask, and my personal favorite the "Beast" mask.
Now I know who makes the London After Midnight mask.... Cool !!!
ReplyDeleteThe one called "Buster" reminds me a lot of the "Be Something" mask which I once owned.....
